LAM School International is a bilingual school with the characteristics and standards of an institution from the United States in Latin America, receiving English instructions in the core subjects with the incorporation of the norms from the Dominican Ministry of Education. Our community aims to provide a challenging English-Spanish learning environment that offers an American-international education, incorporating aspects of both Dominican and American cultures. It is open to both Spanish and non-Spanish speaking students; who demonstrate the ability to fulfill successfully in the school’s academic requirements and ethical expectations.

History

LAM School International is a private and profitable educational institution. Our community endeavors to create a dignified English-Spanish learning environment that offers an American-international education, incorporating aspects of both Dominican and American cultures. There are two School Directors: the Academic Director and the Administrative Director, both being the maximum authority of the school. The School Director or Principal is the authority to develop policies and make regulations for the program implementations. Along with the financial administrator, they take care of the transactions of school business and the orderly administration of the affairs of the school system. Both administrators are responsible for enhancing the educational, technical and overall well-being of the school through the guidance and support of school personnel. The current members of the administration are: Mrs.Amparo de Collie (Academic Director) and Mrs. Maria Cabrera (Administrative/Finance Director). A Board of Directors has been organized along with the Parents Association in order to optimize educational services.

Accreditations

LAM School International (LAMS) is a nationally recognized school offering schools from Nido (2 Years old) through 12th grade. LAM School International has been recognized since 2009 by the Dominican Ministry of Education to extend the implementations of classes from 9th to 12th. Since 2009 LAM School International has been able to impart classes for: PRESCHOOL, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL. All graduating students receive an accredited graduation diploma by: LAM School International and the Dominican Ministry of Education, for 8th grade and 12th grade. At the preschool level students receive a LAM School international Graduation Diploma. Statistics have demonstrated since our day of accreditation that:

 

We have a 96-98% of our seniors class graduate each year. 

We also have a 46-50% of our students attend universities abroad

We have a 90% retention rate of student and parent having satisfaction with our educational system. 

85% percent of our kindergarten graduates preach a high level of alphabetization in both Spanish and English. 

85% of new students who have only previously had a Spanish education, have reach levels of expectation in the LAMS common core curriculum in less than 3 years.

It does this by providing opportunities for professional development, personal growth, and networking, all with an emphasis on international school leadership.

LAM School International has been fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission International (ACI) after a successful inspection made on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 by Dr. John Scheel, ACI President. Accrediting Commission International (ACI) is the world’s largest non-government school accrediting association. ACI accredits over 322 schools in 39 of the United States and in 9 other countries. School and Teacher Certifications are their specialties. ACI is a non-profit corporation in the State of Arkansas. They are an independent accrediting agency. They appeal to foreign schools that offer academic programs, as long as they meet the laws in the country of residence and the guidelines of the Accrediting Commission International. ACI is a member of the National Federation of Independent Business. This is among the largest business organizations in the United States. Accrediting Commission International endorses and supports the practices and principles of the Better Business Bureau of Arkansas. Accrediting Commission International is a member of the local area Chamber of Commerce and is active in promoting their host city, Beebe, Arkansas.
